Tamer Maamoun is an Egyptian-American composer born and raised in the LA area. His musical journey began in high school when he took a guitar class during the last semester it was available for students as programs were being cut. He chose to continue his education at CSUN studying music industry administration, graduating class of 2021 (Cohort 8).
He's a member of several professional organizations such as: LA Chapter of GrammyU (c/o 2023), Palos Verdes Alumni Chapter (Gamma Sigma) Mu Phi Epsilon, Chamber Music America, LA Chamber of Commerce, CCC, SONA, SCL, Music Supervisors Guild, Academy of Scoring Arts, San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, AIMP, ASCAP, Songwriters Guild of America, among others.
He is an advocate for education and echoes the sentiment of Sir Francis Bacon, knowledge is power. “Education truly empowers one to think and act for themselves and in their own best interest. And to truly be educated, one will know that to benefit others is acting in their own best interest. It is truly the best way to enrich one’s life. Education, empathy and shared humanity is vital for a functional, civilized society.” - Tamer Maamoun
